Serving Alaska businesses

Websites, Online Stores and Search for Alaska Businesses

Many Alaska businesses earn their revenue from people who are not in Alaska yet: visitors planning a trip, seafood buyers in other states, and operators hiring contractors for remote projects. Dfeelings builds websites and Shopify stores and runs search and social programs for these businesses from Amman, Jordan. We work remotely, and the proposal sets out meeting times that work across a large time difference.

Dfeelings serves businesses in Alaska remotely from Amman, Jordan; we have no office or staff in the United States, and your proposal sets out how we communicate and report.

Why Dfeelings

Dfeelings was founded in 2013 and builds websites, online stores and search programs from Amman, Jordan. For US clients we work remotely, so our case rests on how we work and what we can show.

  • Build and search in one plan

Structure, copy, structured data and technical SEO are planned with the design, so pages do not need rebuilding later to be findable.

  • GEO and AEO, not only classic SEO

Pages are written and structured so AI assistants and answer engines can read, quote and attribute them, as well as rank in Google and Bing.

  • Shopify and custom builds

Standard Shopify themes, or a Next.js storefront connected to Shopify when a store needs more speed or flexibility.

  • US proof you can check

Our Bekdash case study covers a US eCommerce business where store development ran together with SEO, GEO and content. Other case studies are labeled with their own market.

  • Written proposal before work starts

Every proposal lists deliverables, what you supply, and which costs are billed by third parties such as Shopify, hosts or ad platforms.

  • Remote by design

We work with US clients remotely. The proposal sets out how we communicate, how reviews and approvals happen, and who your point of contact is.

Reading Alaska's business figures

Alaska had 22,178 employer establishments in 2023, and most were small: 89% of Alaska employer establishments had fewer than 20 employees. In firms that size, the owner often handles bookings, sales and the website too. A site that takes routine questions off the phone, explaining seasons, availability, what is included and how to book, gives those hours back.

The home market is modest. Alaska had an estimated 737,270 residents in July 2025, up 0.5% since 2020, along with 2,419 retail trade establishments and 1,988 professional, scientific and technical services establishments. Sellers who want to grow usually look outward, which puts weight on search visibility in other states, shipping details on product pages, and content that answers trip planning and sourcing questions before anyone picks up the phone.

Digital needs of Alaska businesses

Sectors that matter to the Alaska economy, what each one typically needs from its website and search presence, and which of our services fit.

Visitors book months ahead from other states and countries, so tour and lodging businesses need pages that rank for trip planning searches, show seasons and availability clearly, and lead straight to a booking or inquiry.

Alaska has no statewide sales tax, but local taxes can apply

Alaska does not levy a statewide sales tax, yet cities and boroughs may have their own. Remote sales into participating local jurisdictions are coordinated by the Alaska Remote Seller Sales Tax Commission, an intergovernmental body rather than the state tax division. Participation is decided jurisdiction by jurisdiction, so check the Commission site for the current list and rules before you set up your store. This is general information, not tax advice.

Frequently asked questions

Yes, but the overlap is narrow and we would rather say so. Amman, Jordan runs on UTC+3 all year, 11 hours ahead of Alaska daylight time and 12 hours ahead of Alaska standard time. We agree meeting times with you in the proposal, and most project detail is handled in writing so progress does not depend on live calls.
There is no statewide sales tax, but local rules differ by city and borough, and remote sales may fall under the Alaska Remote Seller Sales Tax Commission. Check your own jurisdiction and the Commission site, ideally with a tax professional. Once you know what applies, we configure the store to match.
Use it to build demand for next year. People plan trips during the winter too, so the quiet months are a good time to publish itinerary pages, answer common trip questions, refresh photos and test booking flows. Social content can keep past guests engaged until the next season opens.
It depends on scope: pages or products, who writes the content, custom features, and theme build versus a custom Next.js storefront. We send a written quote after a short brief. Shopify plans, apps, payment processing, hosting and domains are billed separately by those providers.
Yes. Dfeelings works remotely from Amman, Jordan, which is 7 to 11 hours ahead of the continental US depending on the time zone and daylight saving. We have no office or staff in the United States. Your proposal sets out how we communicate, when we meet and who your point of contact is.
A theme store runs entirely on Shopify and is quicker to launch and manage. A Next.js storefront is a custom front end that uses Shopify for products, checkout and orders, giving more control over speed, layout and content. We recommend one after reviewing your catalog and goals.
Yes, and we prefer it. Structure, copy, metadata and structured data are planned during the build so search engines and AI tools understand the site from launch. Ongoing search work is optional and quoted separately.
No. The fee covers the agreed planning, content, publishing and community management. Ad budgets are paid by you directly to the platform, so you keep control of spend.
Timelines depend on scope and on how quickly content and feedback arrive, so dates are set in the written plan rather than promised up front. The proposal states the review rounds included.
